Maria Elena Rocha

Maria Elena "Mama Nena" Rocha, 89, born on February 28, 1930, in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, went home to Jesus on December 14, 2019 at age 89.

The family invites you to an all-day viewing that will take place on Sunday, December 22, 2019 between 10 AM - 9 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 10:30 AM.

She grew up as an only child, raised by her mom, Mami Chuma. At a young age, she discovered a passion for cosmetology and started a career as a hair stylist who specialized in the beautiful styles of the 1940s era.

At age 19, she married Rafael N. Rocha and they started their family. She gave birth to six children, 4 daughters and 2 sons. She lived the rest of her life as a dedicated wife and mother, until Rafael's passing on December 27, 1991.

As the matriarch of her family, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Elena Rocha, Elizabeth Barragan, Bertha Rocha and Martha Rocha, along with her 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Mama Nena was a servant of the Lord and loved him with all her heart. She was a very involved, cherished member of the Hispanic congregation of Grace Chapel Baptist Church in Lancaster, CA.

She resided in Lancaster, CA at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California. She joins her Heavenly Father and her husband, Rafael N. Rocha, her sons, Rafael "Chito" Rocha and Mario Rocha, her mother Jesus Maria and her grandson, Baby Joshua in a joyous reunion, where she always longed to be.
