Maria Hernandez, 91, born on October 14, 1931, in Aguililla, MICH, Mexico, passed away July 12, 2023. She resided in San Bernardino, CA at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, CA
Maria has an amazing story, born to Guadalupe and Jesus along with her sister. They moved to Mexico City, She met her husband at work and that began her love story. Soon after they moved to the United States for a better life.
Maria is loved by her 10 children, 30 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren with one on the way. Including all of their spouses, this is a tremendous amount of love!
We all loved her so much as she was the matriarch of the family, not only was it a joy to eat her food but she would find love just making sure we ate and BOY, Did we eat! Her birria, chile verde con costillitas, and we can't forget her beans.
Anytime we got together we heard her stories, laughed, ate, and felt so much love. "Te querio un chingo" she would tell us and gave us the sign of the cross with her bendicion as we left. Oh and don't dare leave without a picture "Para poner en el chisme" she loved knowing about us by asking "que dice el chisme".
In her last few years she went through so much with her health but she never complained; she was the strongest woman. It was her faith in God that kept her going. She prayed all the time, she prayed for all of the kids with rosaries, finding peace with her little whispering prayer. In the end we were the blessed ones, God blessed us with an amazing, strong, compassionate, beautiful and Loving woman whether you called her Mom, Grandma, abuelita, Chulada, Tia, comadrita or Amiga. She was sure to have touched your heart, she will be missed by all.
It's hard to believe she is physically gone. I think we never thought this day would come. But we must have tranquility in our hearts that she is now painless, peaceful and calm as she is in heaven with God and all the loved ones we lost along the way.
Keep her memory alive in your heart
