Maria Linda Enriquez Cuadro, affectionately known as Mariah, Malyn, and Linda, was a vibrant soul whose laughter filled the air and brought joy to all she encountered. Born on November 2, 1942, in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines, Maria Linda's spirit was as adventurous and free as she was independent. This beautiful light left us on June 14, 2025, in Huntington Beach, California, peacefully in her home.
Maria Linda dedicated nearly twelve years of her life serving others in Los Angeles County, initially as a Nursing Attendant at USC's Medical Center and later as a Clerk at the Central Juvenile Hall. She poured her heart into each interaction, making a positive impact on countless lives along the way. Her education was just as impressive; after graduating from Holy Infant Academy in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines, Maria Linda pursued her passion for music at the Philippine Women's University before earning her certificate in Medical Assisting and Cosmetology at Bryman and Citrus Colleges in Southern California.
Outside the walls of her career and schooling, Maria Linda was a woman of many interests. Her love for travel and adventure was legendary. She delighted in spending cherished moments with family and friends, often sharing in the laughter and enjoyment that came from watching Filipino and Korean movies, attending lively Filipino fiestas, or participating in church activities. Maria Linda had a passion for music, showcasing her skills on the piano especially when she volunteered as an Activity Assistant at Assisted Living residences, bringing smiles and comfort to many. She had a generous spirit, never hesitating to lend her last dollar to someone in need, embodying the true essence of kindness and selflessness.
Maria Linda's weekends were often brightened by visits to family in Southern California or filled with joy as she embraced her favorite pastimes—most memorably, dancing with dear friends at her beloved Cafe Moda in Las Vegas. She had a distinctive sense of style, often seen in her signature leopard prints, classic red nail polish and lipstick, and stylish high heels, which reflected her bold and vibrant spirit. Maria Linda relished every opportunity to shop and enjoy delicious meals, always with a Coca-Cola, coffee or tea in hand. Her personality radiated energy and playfulness, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Her legacy is one of care and unwavering support. Maria Linda was a mother to 4 sons—Carl Lyndon Cuadro, Clark Anthony Cuadro, Christopher Mark Cuadro, and Dino Dupree Dennis—each of whom she loved unconditionally. As a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and a great-grandmother, Maria Linda's heart swelled with pride at their accomplishments, from simple joys to significant milestones. Their memories of her will forever be filled with warmth, laughter, her radiant smile, and the vibrant voice that lit up every room.
Maria Linda is reunited in peace with her beloved parents, Antonio Enriquez and Zenona Pariña Enriquez, her dear sister Manuela E. Fuentes and brother-in-law Fortunato Fuentes, grandnephew Matthew Bancod, and the fathers of her children Ernesto Cuadro and Hershel Dennis. Though they are gone, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her surviving family, which includes: Carl and Cristina Cuadro with their children Ceasar, Cristian, Cameron, and Chad; Clark Cuadro with his children Christian Keanu and Anthony J. Lee, and his granddaughter Sayuri M. Lee; Christopher Cuadro with his children Cyrus, Chanel, Cayla, Christopher Jr., and Chrina; and Dino Dennis with his children Taya, Hershel, and Haylee. Additionally, she leaves behind 5 nieces, 6 nephews, and countless grandnieces and grandnephews from her sister's side, the Fuentes family.
Though the last few years of Maria Linda’s life presented challenges with her diagnosis of Dementia and Parkinson's, she faced every day peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family and gentle care of her wonderful caregivers.
Her memory will continue to enrich our lives, reminding us of the joyful moments, the loving gestures, and the endless laughter we shared. Maria Linda will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as she will live on in the stories we tell, the love we share, and the laughter we remember.
