In Loving Memory of Maria Milagro “Mila” Harviston
November 26, 1936 – February 17, 2026
Maria Milagro “Mila” Harviston, 89, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, in Anaheim, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Mila was born on November 26, 1936, in Alegría, Usulutan, El Salvador, to her loving parents, Ana and Carlos Hernandez. From humble beginnings, she built a life defined by devotion to family and unwavering faith. She was especially devoted to her siblings, always helping and supporting them whenever they were in need. After completing her schooling, Mila worked as a bilingual secretary at City Hall for over 10 years, where she was known for her professionalism, warmth, and dedication. She was often selected to participate in city-sponsored events, a reflection of the pride she took in serving her community and representing her culture with grace and dignity.
In 1974, she married the love of her life, Billy Harviston. Together they built a home filled with faith, music, laughter and unconditional love. Mila was a devoted wife and caregiver, never missing a day by Billy’s side until his passing in 2009. She also cared for her mother in their home as her health declined. Mila was a loving and dedicated mother to her daughter, Dora Blevens, and a deeply involved and cherished grandmother to Mercedes Herrera, whom she helped raise with boundless love, wisdom, and guidance.
Mila is survived by her daughter, Dora; her granddaughter, Mercedes; her beloved siblings; Gladys, Mario, Ramon, Lydia, Rodolfo, and Ana, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Maria loved music and dancing, especially moving to her favorite songs surrounded by family and friends. She found joy in time spent by the beach, preparing delicious meals to share with family and friends, dressing with class and having her hair done, and regularly attending Sunday mass. Her happiest moments were those spent laughing, cooking, eating, and celebrating life with the people closest to her.
Her strength, warmth, and vibrant spirit will forever live on in the countless memories she created and the love she gave so freely.
Funeral services will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Patriots Chapel at 2:00 p.m., with burial immediately following.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers, friends, and loved ones who supported and cared for Mila throughout the years. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
