Maria Godinez

Maria Godinez was born in Detroit, Michigan, September 18,1923, she passed away at the age of 91 on July 28, 2015; she resided in Norwalk, California. She was the daughter of Jacinto & Belen Godinez, one of 12 children. She has three surviving sisters; Guadalupe Venegas, Teresa Arroyo & Angela Gurrola

She had one daughter, Teresa Garcia - married to Francisco Garcia. They blessed her with five grandchildren; Grace, Irene, Norma, Frank & Manuel Garcia and their spouses; Refugio Aguayo, Mike Wimpey & Amelia Garcia.

She had 14 great grandchildren; Thomas Bonetati, Frankie, Gilbert & Natalie Aguayo, Amanda & Steven Wimpey, Veronica Hart, Frank, Chalae, Gene & Angelina Garcia, Manuel Jr, Blanca & Mya Garcia; Eight great-great grandchildren: Ray, Madison, Emma, Elena, Freddie, Eva, Elijah & Laylah and one great-great-great granddaughter; Desiree.

She was known to us all an many others as Nana. She lived a full and happy life with her surviving daughter Teresa Garcia and all her grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a vivacious, beautiful, giving and independent woman. She was always happy and she loved her family.

We all love her very much an she will be missed tremendously.
