Maria Singzon Froilan

Maria Singzon Froilan, 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by loved ones, on August 19, 2017. She was born on December 15, 1920 in Calbiga, Samar, Philippines. At the age of six, she started primary education at Condordia College in Manila, Phil, where she stayed on until graduating from high school. She became a primary school teacher and met Engineer Mariano "Marening" Froilan (now deceased). They had eight children, Monina, Bing, Toti, Marc, Chito, Mailene, Mina and Mae. She taught for 40 years in Catbalogan Samar, after which she and Marening moved to the US, having been sponsored for immigration by Marc. Marening passed away on July 13, 1986. Maria proceeded to Los Angeles, CA, where she awaited the arrival of her children whom she sponsored for immigration. She was residing at Glendale, California with Chito, Mailene and family, and Mae, at the time of her passing.
