Maria Delgado, affectionately known as Mary Lou, passed away peacefully at her home on October 19, 2025. Born on September 11, 1938, in Los Angeles, Mary Lou graced the world with her warmth and kindness for over 87 years. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her, living a life deeply rooted in love, faith, and service.
Mary Lou cherished her work at the Paramount Unified School District, where her joyful spirit shone through in the cafeteria as she served countless students. Her love for young people extended into her volunteer work, where she devoted herself to various roles in the church, most notably as a Sunday School Teacher. With unwavering commitment, she organized youth gatherings and shared the word of the Lord, making a profound impact on countless lives. Her proudest accomplishments were the friendships and relationships she cultivated through her service, cherished connections that brought fulfillment and joy to her life.
Mary Lou's personality was a reflection of her heart of gold; she was one of the most genuine and kind individuals one could ever meet. Always striving to make others feel welcome, her compassion knew no bounds. Family and friends were at the forefront of her joys, especially during the holidays when laughter and love filled the air. She enjoyed worshiping and fellowshipping with her church members, and she was enthusiastic about travel and adventure, contributing to a life rich with joyous memories.
In her later years, Mary Lou faced the challenges of dementia, yet even then, she continued to embody an uplifting spirit, surrounding herself with love and positivity. She lived a wonderful life filled with cherished moments, comforted by her beloved husband, Elias Caleb Delgado, who passed away before her.
The funeral service for Mary Lou will be held on November 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn - Cypress - Church of Our Fathers, located at 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630. Those who had the privilege of knowing her are invited to celebrate her life and legacy, honoring the profound impact she had on so many.
As we remember Mary Lou, let us carry forward her spirit of kindness, love, and service, cherishing the memories of a truly extraordinary soul. Her journey on this earth may have come to an end, but the light she shared and the love she spread will continue to inspire all who had the joy of knowing her.
