Maria Danila

September 25, 1937 — July 25, 2020

Maria Danila was born on September 25th, 1937 in Seitin, Arad, where she spent all of her childhood years. When Maria was age 14, she moved to Timisoara to attend school at Carmen Sylva National Pedagogical High School. Maria became passionate about Mathematics while attending high school in Timisoara, and she went on to continue her studies and earn a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics at the university in Bucharest.
In 1957 Maria married Tiberiu Danila, who was from the same village where she grew up, Seitin

Tiberiu and Maria moved to Otelu Rosu where Maria became a math teacher. Maria had always dreamed of becoming a math teacher because her love for kids and math were inseparable. This allowed Maria to teach with so much love, and she became known as a passionate teacher, much respected by her students.

Together, Tiberiu and Maria experienced a wonderful love story; and from that love story came their first son, Dan. But when Dan was just 11 years old, he passed away due to complications from meningitis. The tragic loss of her son was a challenge in her life, but Maria put her trust in God and was able to endure. Maria remained faithful and prayed every day; and years later, God answered her prayers when He gave Maria and her husband their second son, Adrian.

Adrian grew up in Otelu-Rosu and throughout his childhood, Maria made sure he would have beautiful memories, and of course, a strong mathematical background. Together, Maria and Tiberiu built a great life for their son Adrian. But sadly, after 30 years of marriage, Maria lost her husband due to heart failure, leaving her to continue raising Adrian alone. However, our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Virgin Mary strengthened Maria, and again, Maria endured for her son, Adrian.

Maria always loved to travel and make memories with her family. Therefore, after Maria had the chance to move to the United States in 1997, of course, Adrian came too 7 years later. Maria was an incredible mother who would do anything for Adrian, even move countries halfway around the world. Maria and Adrian always had a special relationship, they were very close. Because of her friendly nature, Maria was also close to all of Adrian's friends, too. For Adrian's friends who had come to America, leaving their mom behind; Maria quickly saw the void and became a mother-figure for them out of the love in her heart.

Maria would spend the rest of her life here in California, close to her son. Here, Maria was known by all for being a caring and charitable person, an amazing cook, very well organized and punctual, and a trustworthy confidant! Maria helped anyone she could with anything that she had; she tried her best to help those less fortunate than her. Everyone will miss her generous spirit. Maria also loved to cook and share her delicious treats with anyone who walked through her door! Everyone will miss her dishes. As a confidant, Maria always gave great advice and was cherished for her positive-thinking! Everyone will miss her great stories, her positivity, her laugh, and most of all, her wisdom and advice.

Maria, you will always be in our hearts!
