Born on March 7, 1939, in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, Maria (Lupe) led a life of twists and turns that ultimately shaped her into the extraordinary person that she was. Graduating from Garfield High School in 1956 marked the beginning of her educational journey, which later culminated in her earning an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from ELAC in 1982.

Maria (Lupe) embarked on a fruitful 30-year career in the travel industry, where her passion for exploration and discovery blossomed. Her love affair with Hawaii knew no bounds, with nearly 50 visits to the enchanting island becoming a testament to her deep-rooted connection with its beauty. From New Zealand to Australia, Fiji to Tahiti, and beyond to London, Paris, Jamaica, British Columbia, the Caribbean, and Mexico, Maria (Lupe) absorbed the wonders of the world with unbridled joy.

Beyond her professional accomplishments lay Maria (Lupe)'s vibrant personality that touched the lives of many who crossed her path. A dedicated football enthusiast since childhood, she graced the Garfield High School drill team while honing an extensive knowledge of college and NFL football—an expertise that never failed to impress. Maria (Lupe)'s sense of humor endeared her to many as she effortlessly turned moments into laughter-filled memories.

Her insatiable curiosity led Maria (Lupe) on a journey through her family history—a venture close to her heart as she aimed to chronicle their significant role in California's rich tapestry. A beacon of light in her church community due to her unwavering faith in the Lord, Maria (Lupe) was adored by many persons who were touched by her warmth and compassion.

As she bids farewell from Camas, Washington—where she transitioned into eternity—Maria (Lupe) leaves behind a loving legacy: Her brother, three daughters, two granddaughters, one grandson, three great-grandsons, two great-great-grandsons, and four grand dogs.

A service honoring Maria (Lupe)'s remarkable life will be held on July 5, 2024, 11:00am, Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA. at Patriots Chapel. The event will serve as a tribute to her life well-lived.
