In Loving Memory of

Maria Ramona Alvarez Arenillo

August 21, 1933-February 4, 2026

Maria Ramona, age 92, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She entered eternal rest after a life devoted to faith, family, and service to others.

Born on August 21, 1933, Maria Ramona or Monina for short was the beloved daughter of Ramon Alvarez and Carmen Jana Alvarez, who instilled in her strong values of faith, humility, perseverance, and devotion to family.  These early lessons shaped the woman she became and guided her through her life.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, her two cherished sisters, Raquel Enriquez and Emily Santa Ana, and her devoted husband, Ernesto Arenillo, her partner in life and love. Their bond was one of deep respect, commitment, and shared devotion to family.

She was a devoted wife and a steadfast partner to her husband, supporting him through his journey to becoming a lawyer and later, a career in banking. Behind every milestone stood her quiet encouragement, sacrifice and belief in his dreams. Together, they built a home rooted in love, respect, and stability.

As a mother, Monina raised five daughters: Carmen, Terry, Monette, Joy and Tina with patience, wisdom, and unconditional love. She instilled in them strong values, faith in God, and a deep appreciation for family. Her guidance was gentle yet firm, always leading by example. Her daughters were her pride and joy, and she dedicated her life to nurturing their growth and happiness. Their home was more than a place to live—it was a sanctuary of warmth, laughter, and belonging. It was where life lessons were taught, memories were made, and love was freely given. Everyone who entered her home felt welcomed and cherished.

Monina’s greatest joy was her family. Her children grew and started families of their own, her heart expanded to embrace each new blessing. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Erik, Ivy, Lawrence, Nicole, Austin, Raymond, Kyle and Kevin. To them, she was a source of comfort, wisdom and unconditional support. She delighted in their accomplishments, dreams and celebrated every milestone with genuine joy.

Later, she was blessed with great-grandchildren, Oliver and Dylan who brought her immense happiness. Their laughter and endless curiosity filled her heart, and through them, her legacy continues.

Monina lived her faith daily through her kindness, generosity, and humility. She believed in serving others quietly and sincerely, always placing the needs of her family and others before her own. Her life reflected gratitude, perseverance, and trust in God’s plan.

She found joy in simple moments—family gatherings, shared meals, quiet or sometimes around noisy and big conversations (as most family have!). These moments became treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Monina leaves behind a legacy not only of love, but of strength, faith, and devotion. Her influence is woven into the character of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Through them her spirit lives on.

Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in knowing she is now resting in God’s eternal peace--reunited with her beloved husband Ernesto, her parents, and her dear sisters in God's loving presence. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love as an everlasting gift.

She leaves behind a legacy full of love and faith that will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come.

With Love,

Daughters & (Spouse)--Carmen (Noel), Terry (Rex), Monette (John), Joy (Ron), Tina (Dave)
