Maria A. Carrillo, 58, was born on August 27, 1967, in Los Angeles and was proudly raised in the Echo Park community. She passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of family, friends, and the faith that carried her through life’s greatest challenges.
Maria was the beloved daughter of Maria de Jesus Moreno and Salvador Carrillo, and a cherished sister to her five brothers (Lalo, Chava, Juan, Jack, and Tito) and one sister (Alma). She devoted her life to protecting, guiding, and loving those closest to her.
Maria was a devoted partner to Araceli Urita and a loving mother to Logan and Alexander. She enjoyed family trips to the beach, dining at Chili’s, watching her boys play football, spending time with her dogs, and creating memories filled with laughter and love.
Maria was known for her incredible work ethic, determination, and independence. She built a respected career as an auto broker and landlord, always taking pride in everything she did. Maria loved working on her properties herself, trusting her own hard work to ensure all projects were a success. Strong, fearless, and resilient, Maria carried herself with confidence. She fiercely protected the people she loved, stood up for what was right, and made sure her family and friends always felt safe.
Maria also loved life’s simple joys. She enjoyed swimming, playing basketball, watching sports, and spending meaningful time with family and friends. Beneath her strength was a deeply caring and generous heart that continuously gave to others.
Throughout her life, Maria endured many difficult health battles. Yet, through every hardship, she continued to fight with remarkable courage and determination. Her faith in the Lord became her source of strength, comfort, and peace during her most difficult moments. Before her passing, Maria found peace with God, her family, and her friends, leaving behind a legacy of love, forgiveness, faith, and resilience.
Maria will forever be remembered as a beloved partner, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her unforgettable spirit touched countless lives and will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She will be dearly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
