Marguerite Chartier De Bey

Marguerite Chartier DeBey was born in Long Beach and passed away in her longtime home of Glendale. She was predeceased by husband George J. DeBey, to whom she was married at Wee Kirk O' the Heather on March 20, 1943, and son George John DeBey, Jr. She is survived by children Diane E. Swanhuyser and Dennis S. DeBey; grandchildren Hiya Swanhuyser, Jesse C. Swanhuyser, Bow S. DeBey, David DeBey, Katharine Harvey, and Sarah DeBey, and great-grandsons Nateo Swanhuyser and Samuel Robert DeBey. "Margie" attended Hoover High School, worked for 35 years at Pfeiffer's Toys, and was a longtime member of Philanthropic Education Organization as well as the Women's Athletic Club of Glendale, Co-Weds of Glendale First United Methodist Church, and Sets in Step Squaredance in La Crescenta.

Her hobbies included piloting small aircraft, working crossword puzzles, golf, and bridge. George and Margie traveled the world and the country together and shared a love of the great outdoors.

Services will be held at Wee Kirk O' the Heather chapel in Forest Lawn Glendale at 1 p.m. Friday, February 19. Donations in her honor can be made to P.E.O., attention President Florine Ernst of the Glendale Chapter.
