Margarita Llovet Ortega Garcia

Dear family and friends,

It is with deep sadness, but unwavering faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ's will and mercy, that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, the late Margarita Llovet Ortega Garcia, last August 15, 2023. She was 95 years old.

Our mother was given the rare and great honor by Jesus Christ of bookending her life with 2 of the most important feast days of Our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary.

Margarita Llovet Ortega was born on September 8, 1927  in Cebu City,  Philippines. At the age of 19 years old, she met, married, and proudly carried the name of this  young Technical Sergeant in the Philippine Constabulary, Teodoro Montero Garcia, on March 8, 1947.

Their tender love affair, that bore 11 children,  21 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren, would last and remain strong for 76 years and 2 days, until Margarita's veined hands had to let go from holding tightly the hands of the only man she had ever loved at 9:31 on the Friday morning of March 10, 2023.

Heartbroken as she was, she maintained her dignity as the family's matriarch and continued leading our daily family rosary, albeit her memory faltering at times and the mere mention of Papa's name making her break into silent sobs. Quiet in her prayers and silent in her pleas to our Mother of Perpetual Help, we knew that she was longing for the day that she'll be with Papa again, especially as she prayed the Memorare.

Five months and 5 days after Papa passed, her prayers were answered in a very special way.  On August 15, 2023, Feast of our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary's Assumption into Heaven, at the age of 95 years old and after having received the Last Rites of the Catholic Church, surrounded in prayer by those whom she loved and who loved her dearly, Mommy's temporal life transitioned into her eternal life. She would have been 96 years old this coming September 8, 2023.

We, Bella Marie (Ging), Cesar Teodoro (Cesar), Renato (Ray), Aida, Maria Sylvia (Syl), Enrico (Eric/Kokko), Maria Cecilia (Michelle), and Margarita Norma (Gidget), her surviving 8 out of 11 children, in-laws, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren request for your prayers.
