Marcos A. Balein

Marcos Achay Balein, also known as Mark, Marc, Mike, and Bebot, 72, born on April 25, 1951, in Taft Eastern Samar, Philippines, passed away on January 19, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He resided in Artesia, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA.

Marcos is survived by: his wife, Regina Balein; his daughter, Daphne Balein; and his sister, Lilia Adlao. 

Marcos was predeceased by: father, Eustaquio Valdez Balein; mother, Marcelina Dalit Achay Balein; brothers, Rev. Fr. Rene (Regino) Balein and Romeo "Romy" Balein.

Marcos will be remembered as a happy man who was always quick to make a joke. He was a devout Catholic throughout his life, generously donating to the church. Marcos was a dedicated family man, prioritizing his family above all else. He found the perfect balance between working and spending time with his family. Mark was a smart, intelligent, and practical man who would spend many hours reading and studying. He worked for many years for Continental Data Graphics, which was acquired by Boeing. In his spare time, with his ingenuity and creativity, Mark drafted and built many devices that he used daily. His last major project was collaborating with his daughter to draft and begin construction on a home in the Philippines for his family.

Funeral mass followed by procession to burial at Forest Lawn.
