MARCIA DEE HALEY (nee Belcher), surrounded by her family, joined her parents in heaven on January 28, 2016. Marcia was born in Long Beach, California on February 28, 1966 to the late Doug and Linda Belcher. As a young lady, she grew up in the Northridge California area graduating from Granada Hills High School and attended Grossmont Community College, San Diego.
Marcia first moved to Seal Beach in 1986 and worked in the mortgage field for many years. In recent years, she devoted her time to caring for her parents who lived in Rossmoor, until their passing.
In August of 2000, Marcia married the love of her life, Michael Shawn Haley, and together they were active members of the Seal Beach Lions Club. Marcia was a Youth Group Advisor for the Seal Beach Leo Club and participated in many of the Club's charitable events including many Vision clinics. Always working to support others, Marcia was at nearly every major Lions event including the Fish Fry, Arts & Crafts Faire, Pancake Breakfast and many others. Marcia served multiple years on the Board of Directors of the Lions club and had a deep, abiding passion for youth. Marcia was a three time recipient of the Lion's Club Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for her good works with the Lions and Leos, and displayed the true meaning of "giving back" to your community.
Marcia was profoundly loved by her immediate family: Michael, her husband of 16 years; her son, Tyler; step children, Jessica and Shawn Haley; sister Dana (Belcher) Ring and Kathy Belcher; sister-in-law Timothy and Tracy Haley; niece Emily Haley; and loving daughter-in-law of Rich and Pat Haley. Her Belcher family resides in the Northridge area, and she is mourned by her Aunt Rosemary (nee Denmen), Cousins and long-time school friends. Marcia's Leo & Lions family spans well over 600 youth and adults in the Seal Beach area.
Marcia will be interned with her parents at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress, California with a private family funeral.
