Marcello Espinosa, Jr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marcello Espinosa, Jr., 72, who unexpectedly left us on Sunday, July 21st.

Marcello, affectionately known as Marcel, was born on June 19, 1952, in Los Angeles, CA, to Marcello, Sr and Anna Espinosa. He attended Banning High School in Wilmington, CA and dedicated over 30 years to his career as a proud Longshoreman. Marcello was deeply rooted in a long family line of Longshoremen, and his legacy continues through his son and other family members who are part of the ILWU Local 13 today.

Marcel is survived by his wife, Misa Espinosa; his children, Danielle Gray, and Marcel Espinosa, III; and his cherished grandchildren, Angelique Gray, Marcello Espinosa, IV, Jaymeson Gray, and Arianna Espinosa. He is also survived by his sister, Anita Martinez, and his nieces and nephews, Michele Hambsch, Michael Martinez, and Danielle Key, as well as his great-nieces and great-nephews.

Marcel had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel loved and valued. His playful spirit and genuine kindness were evident in everything he did. Whether it was his infectious humor or his heartwarming birthday serenades, Marcel's presence always made people feel cherished and accepted.

He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly for his generous heart and his ability to brighten any room.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA and will be held on August 8 at 2:00 pm.

Visitation will be on August 7 from 4-8pm at Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA.
