Marc Jerome Verna

d. December 22, 2020

Marc Verna was taken from us suddenly on the evening of December 22, 2020. His memory will always be cherished and remembered by his loving wife Diane and her four boys, Aaron, Steven, Samuel and Nathan, along with their wives and children, his brothers Tim and Gary, sister Debbie, sisters in law Chris and Karen, his nephews Bryan, Tyler, niece Kaitlyn, and close friend Monte.

God presented Marc as a gift to his parents Luke and Marie in Burbank CA on 4/22/1974. In his early years, Marc attended school and other activities in Burbank and Sherman Oaks Ca. After his father's death, he and his mother moved to Scottsdale AZ.

Eventually, Marc and his mother returned to Southern California. Marc had a great love of the creative arts. He was born with enormous musical and writing talent. Marc had an ear for the piano. There were times he would play an intricate song on key without the aid of being able to read a note of sheet music. He seemed at ease while playing music.

Yet with all his musical talent, Marc was a voracious reader and writer. He was always reading books and developing his writing skills. He was forever coming up with new ideas for writing stories and spend hours trying to write "the perfect script."

Marc had a great passion for movies. He would frequent such theaters as the ArcLight, and Egyptian theaters in Hollywood, the New Beverly Cinema and Nuart theatres in Los Angeles, and the Aero theatre in Santa Monica. He loved to spend the day in his favorite bookstores and coffee shops before heading to his movie venues. Marc enjoyed being with his movie friends and discussing the intricacies of a production. He was thrilled when his nephews Bryan and Tyler began to develop an interest in some of his favorite directors. They loved to watch his recommended movies and looked forward to discussing them with their Uncle Marc.

Marc was a caring protector of his wife, bringing culture, music, technology, travel, humor, companionship, and true happiness and love into her life. He respected and enjoyed spending time with her family.

He enjoyed coffee- cold brew and the occasional self-made perfect expresso. Mexican food was his favorite. He enjoyed vacations with his wife at the beach with fine seafood, and a coffee shop overlooking the ocean. The peaceful scenes were inspiring to him. With that, he also deeply valued the solitude critical to his creativity.

Marc enriched the lives of anyone he connected with, helping them step up in life, and giving them loyal supporting friendship.

We will all greatly miss the wit, sarcasm, and above all the humor of our beloved family member and friend. His life was too short for all his loves and creative interests, but most of all it was too short for those who loved him. May he rest in peace.

Graveside services for Marc will be held at Forest Lawn on Tues Feb 2 at 12:30: A fund has been created in Marc's memory with St Jude's Children's research center. Please consider a donation in his honor in lieu of flowers at http://giftfunds.stjude.org/Marc_Verna
