CPO Manuel Rillera USN

On March 7, 2023, Manuel Flores Rillera took his final breath, surrounded by close family members.  He was a resident of Claremont, California.  Born January 1, 1931 in Naguilian, Philippines, Manuel was 92 years young. 

Manuel is survived by his wife of 60 years, Fe Macagba Rillera, daughters, Joy Rillera and Ceta Kelley with extended family members of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Lowell Rillera, his parents and 8 brothers. Manuel was the youngest son of 9 children.

Chief Petty Officer (CPO), Manuel F. Rillera, was a decorated veteran earning the National Defense Service Medal along with numerous Good Conduct Awards.  He served 22 years in the  US Navy and spent another 10 years with General Dynamics.  Manuel (Manny’s) zest for life was his biggest compliment for God and Country.

Our family is grateful to know Manny is resting in eternal peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as his health has been compromised for so long. 

A rosary will be held at Forest Lawn Covina Hills March 26, 2023 at 4pm then a traditional funeral mass on March 27, 2023 at Our Lady of Assumption in Claremont, CA at 10:30 am.  Immediately following the service will be a military honor burial at Forest Lawn Covina Hills.
