Manuel Hernandez, affectionately known as Mellie or Manny, passed away on November 3, 2023, in Long Beach, CA. He was born on April 26, 1947, in Carlsbad, NM. Manuel will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Margarita R. Hernandez, their children Melissa and son-in-law Eric, daughter Melanie, son Manuel Jr. and daughter-in-law Brianne as well as his grandchildren William and Nicole. He is also survived by his last living sibling Consuelo.
Manuel lived a remarkable life filled with love, generosity, and faith. He had an unwavering devotion to his family and always put their needs before his own. Manuel's selflessness extended beyond his immediate family; he was known for giving the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His kindness and patience left an indelible mark on all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Throughout his life, Manuel held strong beliefs and remained steadfast in his faith in God as his lord and savior. This faith provided him with the strength and resilience to overcome challenges with grace and dignity.
Manuel led a fulfilling professional life as well. He served honorably in the United States Navy for four years before pursuing higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon and attended Western State School of Law for a short time.
In his leisure time, Manuel enjoyed indulging in two of his favorite hobbies – golfing and sharing a cold Budweiser with friends. These activities brought him immense joy and allowed him to connect with others. However, nothing brought him greater delight than spending time with his family. Manuel cherished family gatherings and created unforgettable memories with those he loved.
Manuel's legacy will continue to live on through the hearts of all those whose lives he touched. His kind nature, strength of character, and unwavering faith serve as an inspiration for everyone who knew him.
A visitation service will be held on November 18, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Forest Lawn - Cypress - Hope Chapel located at 4471 Lincoln Ave, Cypress, CA 90630. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate Manuel's life and share their precious memories.
A reception to be held at Old Rach Country Club in Seal Beach from 4:00-7:30.
May Manuel's soul rest in eternal peace, and may his family find solace in the cherished memories they shared with him.
