With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Manuel De Jesus Benavente on May 22, 2026. A beloved father, grandfather, and friend, whose strength, integrity, and unwavering devotion made him the pillar of our family. His life was defined by hard work, selflessness, and deep love for those around him.
Manuel is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Amanda and his children: Juan Carlos Benavente and Rosa Arreaga. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Sandra Elizabeth Benavente, Hugo (Junior) Benavente-Corlew, Carlos Benavente, Kevin Benavente, Nadia Jurado-Arreaga and Diego Arreaga. His great-grandchildren include: Harley, Robert, Nathaniel, Juliette, and Leonel.
Born in Guatemala on January 6, 1942, he carried with him the values of perseverance, humility, and dedication throughout his journey in life. After immigrating in search of better opportunities for his family, he built a life rooted in honesty and determination. Through years of managing properties and working as a skilled handyman, he earned the respect of everyone who knew him for his reliability, craftsmanship, and strong character. Above all else, family was the center of his world. He found his greatest happiness at home, surrounded by the people he loved most. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply enjoying quiet moments together, his presence brought comfort, strength, and stability to our lives.
He was a gifted craftsman who enjoyed woodworking and drawing, hobbies that reflected both his creativity and patience. With his hands, he could build and repair almost anything, but it was the care and love behind everything he created that made his work truly meaningful. He will be remembered as a devoted family man, a tireless worker, and a man whose actions spoke louder than words. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled in all of us: to work hard, care deeply, remain honest, and always put family first.
Though he will be deeply missed, his love, wisdom, and example will remain in our hearts forever.
