Maia Lazarian, a beloved mother, wife and a friend to all, passed away on October 18, 2023, in Glendale, California Peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Iran at city of Rasht on February 28, 1931. Maia's life was dedicated to her family and to her friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and joy.
Maya dropped out of school at the young age of 13 to support her family during their difficult times. It was during this period that she discovered her passion for sewing. With determination and talent, she honed her skills and became a skilled seamstress.
Throughout her life, Maia worked tirelessly, creating beautiful garments that brought joy to those who wore them. Her attention to detail and craftsmanship were unparalleled. Each stitch she made was filled with care and love for her craft.
But Maia's impact extended beyond her career as a seamstress. Those who knew her will fondly remember her warm presence and her cheerfullcheerful stories of her childhood. She would gather us around and tell us of her memories . The innocent pranks that she and her cousin Rudolph would pull on her parents and friends.
Maia had a beautiful voice that could captivate any audience. Her songs were unique and ahead of their time, bearing witness to her immense talent.
Despite offers from masters in the music industry and the opportunity to go on world tours, Maia's family chose not to let her pursue a career in music. Nevertheless, she continued to sing and share her heavenly voice with those closest to her.
In her spare time, Maia loved watching old Hollywood movies. The glamour and elegance of the silver screen fascinated her. She found inspiration in the performances of iconic stars, incorporating elements of their style into her own wardrob‘s creation .
Maia's passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her. Her infectious joy lit up any room she entered and brought comfort to those around her. She will be deeply missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her.
Maia is survived by her loving daughter Magda Thomassian, son-in-law Mishik Thomassian, and grandchildren Talin and Ara Thomassian. Also mourning her loss is her brother Edmond Mark and his daughter Yvette, the spouses of her grandchildren, Gevorg and Sheena. Further more, she will be missed by her great grand children, Sophia, Raffi and Luna, whom she loved and cherished dearly.
A funeral service will be held on November 4, 2023, at the Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills - Church of the Hills in Los Angeles, California. The service will begin at 12:30 PM with a reception to follow at 1:30 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating the life of Maia Lazarian and bidding her a final farewell.
Maia Lazarian's beautiful spirit and immense talent will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched. Her creativity, passion for her craft, and the joy she brought to others will live on as a testament to a life well-lived. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of her loved ones, including husband, Serjik Lazarian and son, Vahe, who have passed before her.
