Magdalena Mendoza

Magdalena Mendoza, 90, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, in Indio, California, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on July 22, 1935, in Donna, Texas, to Patricio and Lucia Silva, both of whom preceded her in death. She spent most of her life in the Coachella Valley, making Albuquerque, New Mexico, her home for the past nine years.

Magdalena built a long, full life rooted in love, resilience, and devotion to her family. She was married to the late Juan T. Mendoza, and together they raised a family whose bond remains strong across generations. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Hilda Mendoza Soriano.

She is survived by her children Raul (Liisa) Mendoza, Eddie (Florence) Mendoza, Teri Mendoza, Delia Mendoza, and Juanita Mendoza. Magdalena was blessed with a large and loving family, including 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. She is also survived by two sisters, one brother, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on January 22, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 51990 Jackson St., Coachella, CA 92236.

Funeral Mass will take place on January 23, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Soledad Church, 52980 Cesar Chavez St., Coachella, CA 92236.

Magdalena's legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, the values she instilled, and the love she shared so generously.
