Kurt, Lyndon "Lindy" James passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 19,2018 at his home in Bellflower, CA. He was 76 years old. Lindy, as he was known to his family and friends, was born in Lynwood, CA. He was born to Leonard and Wilma Kurt and was the younger brother to his sister Peggy. Lindy graduated from Dominguez High School in 1960. He was a pitcher in high school and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers and then acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. Lindy's professional baseball career was cut short in 1963 due to an injury to his pitching arm. He also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Lindy spent most of his life in the Long Beach, CA area where he owned a heating and air conditioning business for over 35 years. Lindy lived life to its fullest and enjoyed taking his boat to the river with family and friends. In 1992, at the young age of 50, he contracted the Guillain-Barre virus that left him bound to a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. Elsa, his wife of 8 years and cared for him 21 years along with help of many loving caregivers. Lindy was the consummate joker and lit up the room with his larger than life humor at every occasion. He loved watching his beloved Dodgers with Elsa as they never missed a game on TV. Lindy is survived by his loving wife Elsa, sister Peggy(Frank) Liera, step-daughter Julie(Odell) Enesi and four sons Bobby(Paula), Jimmy, Brian(Julie) and Jeff(Kelly). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all.
