Lydia Zepeda Ortega was born on April 12, 1945, in Alcarases, Mexico. At a young age, she and her sister moved to the United States in search of work and to start a new life. She met the love of her life Alfonso Ortega and married on September 4, 1965, in Colima, Mexico. They started their life together in California, where they raised their three children. Lydia was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and spoiled her 2 grandchildren. Lydia loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company. She was always up for a last minute trip to the casino, or weekend getaway. Lydia was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.

Lydia Zepeda Ortega was the beloved wife of Alfonso Ortega, devoted mother of Alfonso Ortega Jr., Rosie Ruiz, and Alejandro Ortega. She was a loving mother in law to Gabriel Ruiz and a doting grandmother to Alexzandra "Tanda" & Christian "Indio" Ruiz.

God Saw You Getting Tired

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be
so he put his arms around you and whispered,
"Come to Me"

With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best
