Lucita Soledad Villarmia

February 1, 1944 — April 13, 2016

Lucita Soledad Villarmia, age 72, born on February 1, 1944 in Tago City in the Province of Surigao del Sur in the Philippines passed away peacefully on April 13, 2016. She resided in Santa Clarita, California at the time of her passing. She was the daughter of Guillerma Roluna and Lucio Soledad and was the youngest of five children. She was preceded in death by her sister, Teofila Gesto and her brother, Crisanto Soledad. She preceded in death her two sisters, Imelda Gandalla and Adelina Soledad.

She was a loving and supportive mother. She taught her children and grandchildren to treat people with kindness, not to discriminate, to accept people for who they are, and to forgive. She was a caring, compassionate, selfless, giving, and forgiving person. She was loved by her family and by others who considered her their mother. It was very easy to love Lucy. She was warm and friendly, had a great sense of humor, and she had lots of patience. She was also an excellent homemaker and a good cook. She dedicated most of her life taking care of her family. She was a faithful Catholic and lived the life of a good Christian. It was her faith in Jesus Christ that comforted her during her challenging times. The greatest gift she passed on to the family is her faith and belief that this life is transitory and the promise of eternal life with the Lord.

The members of her family are grateful for the time God gave them to be with her. They feel blessed to have shared many memorable experiences with her and look forward to the day they will meet her again. The family will miss seeing her beautiful face, her funny dances, and the love only a mother could provide. She is now in heaven but her spirit will always be with her family. The family is comforted by the memories of joy they shared with her and of the knowledge that Lucy is now with the Lord.

She is survived by her ex-spouse, Rodolfo Villarmia, and their three daughters, Mary Grace Villarmia-Bertoni, Janet Leigh Villarmia, and Elaine Weddell, their spouses, Davide Bertoni, Edward Corrington, and Steve Weddell, and her eight grandchildren, David Bradley Bertoni, Michael Bertoni, Sophia Bertoni, Blake Edward Corrington, Hailee Christine Corrington, Tyler Weddell, Tiffany Weddell, and Allison Weddell.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.
