Lucita Pestaño

February 1, 1942 — September 8, 2024

Lucita Mabbun Pestaño, affectionately known as Lucy, passed away September 8, 2024, at Lomita Post Acute Care Center, after a long battle with heart failure and damaged aortic valve, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease. She has undergone two mitral valve replacements and multiple bypass surgeries. The fourth of six children, Lucy was born on February 1, 1942, in Tallungan, Aparri, Cagayan, Cagayan Valley, Philippines, to Pablo Mabbun and Marta Agoncillo.

Lucy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness and soft-spoken nature brought warmth to all who knew her. She was a peacekeeper whose love language was expressed through her passion for cooking. Her specialty dishes such as Kare-Kare, Beef Morcon, Callos, and Pecan Tarts to name a few, were always enjoyed by her family. Cooking a favorite dish is her love language. The time and effort she put in for every dish she cooked or baked symbolized her deep love and affection for family and friends.

Lucy is survived by her beloved husband, Quintin; her six children: Francisco, Warren, Gladys, Lynden, Don Rahjid, and Darleene Mae; and her younger sister, Arsenia Mabbun Cabusi. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Garry Glenn, Nasstassja Czinairah, Micah Deven Tala, Aarren Joszef, Clarren Joseph, Kiana Katrina Faith, Ariane Zchanet, Lucas Raziel, and Emilia Jinora, as well as her great-grandchildren: Kai'den James Rowan, Ayla June Reina, and Presley Jo River. Lucy also leaves behind her dear in-laws: Grace, Juveniana, Alejandro Ricardo, Robert, Michael, Xavier, and Alissa Marie.

A visitation to honor her memory will be held on September 28, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Cypress Forest Lawn - Hope Chapel, located at 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630.

The love and memories Lucy created will forever stay in the hearts of those she touched, reminding all of us of the beauty in kindness and humility, and the power of love for God and family.
