Lucille M. Gabbard

Lucille M. Gabbard, born on June 16, 1907, in Los Angeles, California, passed away February 6, 2015. She resided in Hollywood, California. Lucille had 2 brothers and 1 sister, all are deceased now. Her parents divorced, but it was Lucille who kept in contact with her father. Lucille was called upon to help raise her siblings while her mother worked. One by one, each sibling got married, until Lucille was the only one left unwed. A man by the name of Ray Gabbard, who worked for the studios, courted her for about 25 years, before she would marry him. He said "She was worth waiting for". They had a wonderful life together. Lucille loved the "Hollywood" life. They could not have children, but she was called upon to raise 2 of her nephews (Fred and Robert), which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was always there for all her other nieces and nephews. The most wonderful Aunt anyone would have wanted. She had a full and prosperous life. She enjoyed teaching others "the right way" of doing things as well as "helping God" with his plan. She will be dearly missed.
