Luana grew up in Seattle Washington. Attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. She had very fond memories of her time spent there and found her love for hot , sunny weather.
She was a talented writer and bright business woman. She owned her own antique shop in Richland Washington and also worked in Real Estate. Whatever endeavor she took on she did it with undaunting drive, endless hardwork and determination. Luana was a woman ahead of her time taking risks and assuming challenges long before there were a lot of women in business. If you told our mother she could not do something she invariably proved you wrong.
She loved to travel and had been on trips to England, Norway and Sweden. She and Ed lived for a time in South Carolina and Connecticut and enjoyed the people, the history and the beautiful scenery. She had great stories to tell of their time spent there. She loved to experience new places and meet new people. She was a talented gardener and would create beautiful flower beds. She won first prize for her flower beds at her home in Edmonds, Washington. She loved beautiful clothes and took pride in dressing impeccably. She had a love of antiques and her family heirlooms meant so much to her. Luana was an avid reader and enjoyed a good book. She had a great sense of humor, was witty and delighted in fun. She was a member of the Sons of Norway, Lodge #2003, Everett, Wa.
For the past several years Luana and Ed have resided in Palms Spring, CA . She had many friends, rich and wonderful memories and loved the warm winters . Ed and Luana enjoyed listening to music on their back patio. Charlie her dog brought her laughter and comfort and was dearly loved by her.
The last year of her life she carried herself with strength, willfulness and courage throughout a very difficult battle. Our mother was an amazing woman.
One of her favorite sayings which she repeated to her family many times was:
Be pretty if you can;
Be witty if you must;
But be gracious if it kills you.
Mom, you were all of those things. We love you and miss you.
Rest in peace mom, you are home now.
Our Family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Reynolds of Palms Springs.CA., Dr Robert W. Decker, Dr.Harmik Souskasian, Dr. Robert Mckenna, Dr. Richard Tuli, Dr. Shahab Meheizadeh, Dr. Edward j. Share and the staff of Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles for taking wonderful care of our Mother. Mom considered them not only her doctors but her friends.
