Lovena Margie Mcneill

Margie, 84, passed away at Eisenhower Memorial Hospital on Saturday, November 1st, 2014 with family by her side. She resided in Palm Desert, Calif. for 25 years. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas McNeill, Jr.; her brother, Leon (Jane) Arledge; her son, Gary (Maritza) McNeill; her son, Rod (Ruth) McNeill. She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Nicole (Josh) Long; her grandson, Justin McNeill; and granddaughter, Kaitlin McNeill. Born in Sayer, Okla., to Harry and Merle Arledge, she later graduated from Riverside High School. She attended UCLA and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She was an active member of Southwest Community Church. She had many friends, as well, through her affiliation with the Panhellenic Association. After her children were grown, she worked in the fine dress department of Robinson's department store in Cerritos, Calif. Her mother had a successful dress shop in New Mexico and that experience had rubbed-off on her. She enjoyed dining-out, cooking, traveling and reading. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, Calif. Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 15th, 2014 at 9:00 am in the Ramon Chapel at Forest Lawn, with interment to follow at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the National Heart Association.
