Louis loved the outdoors! He was an avid fisherman, hunter and camping enthusiast. He owned 2 motor-homes in his lifetime and enjoyed traveling all over the US and the great state of California. He was past President of the Southern California Deaf Campers and was famous for being the first one up in the morning to make the coffee for everyone. He was recognized for his service to the Deaf community in many capacities throughout his life. Louis attended Rochester School for the Deaf and spoke about the time he met Helen Keller in person and signed his name in her hand. It made a lasting impression on him. He was well loved and loved his Deaf community and Italian heritage.
Louis worked as a machinist for 45 years before retiring at 62. He could fix almost anything and took great pride in his work. Providing for his family was a core value and moving his family to California in 1974 came from his desire to have a better life for his wife and children. He also loved the weather!!
