Lou Ann was born March 25th, 1958 in Northridge, CA. Her parents were Leona and Art Damiani and she was the youngest of four siblings. She graduated from St. Genevieve High School in 1976. Lou Ann worked for Vons for over 20 years in the bakery and as a checker. She met Randy Wagner while he was working on installing new refrigeration at Vons Northridge and they were later engaged on Christmas Eve of 1985 and married on April 26, 1986. They lived in West Covina for several years before moving to Diamond Bar in 1990. Together, they had a daughter--Randi--and, in 1995, Lou Ann retired from her job as checker to become a homemaker and classroom volunteer. She went back to school at Mt. San Antonio College in 1999 and obtained her Associates Degree before transferring to Cal Poly Pomona. In 2007, she graduated with honors with her Bachelor of the Arts in Liberal Studies.
Lou Ann battled breast cancer numerous times. Her first diagnosis was in 1998 and then, on the cusp of her college graduation, she was diagnosed again with stage four cancer. She underwent numerous treatments that resulted in many side effects and, in the years to follow, was routinely receiving treatment for recurrences in different parts of her body. The side effects of the cancer and treatments had a dramatic impact on her life and physical abilities, but still Lou Ann persevered to live her life as best as she could in spite of her many challenges.
On May 14 2026, Lou Ann passed away at age 68 from an intensive and rapidly progressing battle with the return of her cancer at City of Hope hospital in Duarte.
Lou Ann will be remembered for her strength, resilience, intelligence, humor, and love. Her favorite activities were cooking, caring for animals, watching soap operas, playing video games, and spending cozy days with her family. She was a wonderful and supportive wife and mother and will always be an inspiration to all who knew her.
