Lou Ann, a devoted daughter, sister, and mother, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, California, on October 13, 2025, surrounded by the memories and love of her family.
A woman of many talents, Lou Ann was not only known for her remarkable skills in the kitchen but also for her exquisite taste and style. A wonderful cook and hostess, she had a special knack for creating memorable moments around the dining table. Her hot fudge, a delicious creation, became legendary among family and friends, and she always ensured that the ingredients for a banana split or a hot fudge sundae were readily available – a testament to her belief that life is best savored with a bit of sweetness.
Lou Ann’s educational journey led her to the University of Utah, where she studied interior design and became an esteemed member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Her passion for design reflected in her home, which was always beautifully adorned, welcoming guests with open arms and an inviting ambiance.
Those who knew her could not help but remember her fun sense of humor and love for movies. Lou Ann was a wonderful host, making every gathering feel special and filled with joy. Her fondness for cats brought many furry companions into her home over the years, each one a beloved part of her family.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Jim; granddaughters, Lauren, Courtney, and Barbie; and the many lives she touched with her kindness and laughter. Lou Ann is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Leslie, and her cherished son, Sean. Their memories shine brightly alongside hers, and the bond they shared will forever be treasured.
Lou Ann will be honored with a funeral service that will take place on October 30, 2025, at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, California, where family and friends will come together to celebrate her life and the joy she continually spread.
A life rich in love and memories, Lou Ann Richards will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of warmth, laughter, and scrumptious hot fudge will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
