Haverhill: Lorraine (Sudol) Sawyer, 77, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, following an extended illness, at Wingate at Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie (Ostopchuk) Sudol, she was educated in the Haverhill School System and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1957.

Mrs. Sawyer enjoyed being a housewife and homemaker for her late husband and her children and was a member of Saint James Parish of Haverhill and a former member of Saint Michael's Parish. An avid sports fan, especially of the New England Patriots, and Boston Red Sox, she enjoyed watching golf tournaments on television, sewing, cross stitching, dancing and playing cards.

The wife of the late Robert N. Sawyer, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, James Sawyer of Haverhill; her daughters, Deborah Comiskey and her husband Scott of Haverhill, Diane Sawyer and her longtime companion, Kevin McLaughlin, of Woburn, three brothers, Joseph "Butch" Sudol of Haverhill, Anthony Sudol and his wife Sandra of Haverhill, and Paul Sudol and his wife Joanne of Merrimac, five sisters, her twin sister Louise Stickney of Salem, NH, Frances Paul of Atkinson, NH, Regina Clifford of Atkinson, Sophie Scamporino and her husband John of Haverhill and Laura Gates and her husband Wayne of Plaistow, NH, a grandson Troy Robert Comiskey, an uncle and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Peter Sudol.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will take place on Monday, at 9a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial at 10a.m. in Saint James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA.
