Lorna T. Dilag, affectionately known as "Nanay," was born on March 13, 1937, in Iloilo, Philippines, and passed away peacefully at home in Lawndale on November 9, 2025. She dedicated over 25 years of her professional life to Union Bank, where she made lasting contributions and impacted many lives throughout her career.
Lorna was a proud alumna of the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy. Her educational journey laid the foundation for a life marked by kindness and a desire to serve others. Known for her loving, caring, and generous nature, she gracefully embodied guidance and warmth that touched everyone who crossed her path. In addition to her many achievements, Lorna was a devoted member and organizer of the Dumangas Association America, where she fostered community and connection among her fellow Dumangasanons.
Her interests were diverse, reflecting her vibrant personality. Lorna enjoyed cooking, gardening, crafting, sewing, and shopping, often finding joy in simple pleasures such as reading about health and natural remedies and indulging her love for music and ballroom dancing.
Lorna is survived by her beloved husband, Benito, and their children, Victoria, Benito Jr., and Rose. She was also a cherished grandmother "Nanay" to Kekoa, Kainoa, Kaiulani, and Tyrese who were very fortunate to have her by their side especially ensuring their safety to and from school. Her family and friends will remember her not only for her many talents and nurturing spirit but also for her unwavering faith and commitment to live a life of purpose and love.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Paul, who remains lovingly in the hearts of those who remember him.
Visitation services will be held at Forest Lawn - Cypress - Hope Chapel on December 18 and December 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM each evening. A funeral service will take place at Forest Lawn - Cypress - Patriots Chapel on December 20, 2025, beginning at 11:30 AM, concluding at 12:30 PM.
Lorna Dilag's legacy will live on through her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched with her genuine heart and compassionate spirit. She will be dearly missed.
