Lorenzo Acosta

Lorenzo Acosta was born in Guadalajara, Mexico on February 23, 1940. He was 81 years of age when he passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2022. Lorenzo is survived by his wife, Yolanda Acosta, his 5 children, 15 grandkids, and 8 great-grandkids.


Lorenzo was a kind man to many and was known for his strong grip handshake and hugs. His family knew to hold on tight! But most importantly, he had a wonderful smile that will never be forgotten.


His two recent passions were talking about his hometown (Mexico) and visiting the casinos! Mexico is where he grew up and met Yolanda. They met at work, got married, and moved to the U.S. with their first child (Veronica), where they began their journey together. After struggles but making a name for themselves, they welcomed three more little girls (Claudia, Lorena, and Elizabeth). Who knew that 11 years thereafter, their only son would arrive (Steven). He brought so much joy to everyone but especially to Lorenzo who always dreamed of having a boy, although he welcomed each daughter with lots of love.


Lorenzo and Yolanda lived in Baldwin Park for almost 30 years. He enjoyed visiting his favorite drive-through, In N Out. After retirement, they moved to Eastvale. More memories were made in the next 9 years. One of those memories included Lorenzo and Yolanda walking to the park or around the block when they were not watching movies at home or visiting relatives. However as mentioned above, Lorenzo's favorite go-to place was casinos. He enjoyed going with Yolanda, his daughter Claudia and other family members.


Lorenzo traveled everywhere he could, if it wasn't Hawaii or Mexico, it was Niagara Falls or Florida. The family enjoyed taking annual trips before the pandemic hit, however, their latest gathering was in October of 2021 at Palm Springs. Everyone enjoyed being together, going to Shakey's, hanging around the pool and of course the casino!


Lorenzo left us too soon, but one day we will all come together again for another family trip in heaven.
