Lonnie Dixon Rhodes, 82, born on March 11, 1936, in San Jacinto, California, passed away January 11, 2019. He resided in Yucaipa, California at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.

Lonnie was born to Joseph and Elizabeth (Griggs) Rhodes. From an early age, Lonnie loved to run and dance earning the nickname of Twinkle Toes. As a member of the Ferber Dance Studios, Lonnie performed dance routines and shows in multiple productions. His talent earned him first place on the "Make Believe Stars" television show. An early job during high school was at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant with Mrs. Knott.

In track, Lonnie won CIF championships for his sprinting. Following high school, he was a member of over 40 shows with the Civic Light Opera while working for the Union Pacific Railroad. In the 1970s, Lonnie was on the Gong Show twice with different acts, one with his life-long friend Jim Baker.

Lonnie was a committed member of youth sports in Bellflower serving as coach and board member for both baseball and football leagues for years during the 80s and 90s. Lonnie retired after 41 years with the railroad, but stayed active through his love to entertain performing comedy shows for his friends for years into his retirement. He loved sports and attending games.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by three children, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
