Lois Emerton

September 17, 1952 — November 2, 2024

Lois Emerton, known affectionately as "Sanny" passed away peacefully on November 2 2024, in Palm Desert, California, leaving behind a remarkable legacy woven through her passion for life and the love she shared with her family and friends. Born on September 17, 1952, in Gardena, California, Lois was a vibrant spirit from the very beginning, embodying a carefree, loving, and passionate personality that touched the hearts of many.

A proud graduate of Gardena High School's Class of 1970, Lois was celebrated as the Most Athletic Female—a testament to her lifelong dedication to sports and fitness. She furthered her education at Los Angeles Harbor College, where her bright spirit and determination continued to shine. Her career in the fashion industry as a Fit Model in the Los Angeles Garment District paved the way for an impressive and fulfilling role at Frito Lay in Rancho Cucamonga, where she thrived for 43 years as a Project Coordinator before retiring. Her achievements in the workplace included being honored as Frito Lay's Employee of the Year.

Lois cherished her loved ones deeply, always putting everyone ahead of herself. This selfless quality, coupled with her infectious sense of humor and love for adventure, defined her relationships. Lois reveled in the joy of golf, hitting a remarkable hole-in-one at Golf Club Trilogy in LaQuinta, creating memories that would be cherished for years to come. She found pleasure in cultural pastimes like Mahjong, took delight in thrilling road trips, and had a particular fondness for cars, particularly Porsches.

Her loving family includes her devoted husband, Richard John Emerton, who was truly the light of her life. Together, they shared many wonderful memories with their dog, Putter, who often joined them on adventures. Lois is survived by her stepdaughters, Richelle Vega and Tiffany Emerton, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Tyler Emerton, Alyssa Smith, and Tori Vega. She was also a proud grandmother to four great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit.

Lois is remembered affectionately by her loving sisters, Bonnie Eichenberger and Dorsie Stevens, and is cherished by her nine nieces and nephews, who were lucky to have her as their aunt. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lois May Stotts, father, Kenton Ridgway, stepfather, Dan Sottts, and brother, Kenton Ridgway.

As we remember Lois, let us celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and irresistible charm. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know her. Sanny will forever hold a special place in our hearts, a reminder of the beauty in caring for others and the joy found in every moment.

Rest in peace, dear Lois. You will be missed more than words can express.
