Lloyd W. Bookout

Lloyd W. Bookout, Jr. passed away peacefully on May 4, 2017 in Palm Springs, California. Lloyd was born in Hanford, California on March 3, 1954, the son of Marie and Lloyd Bookout, Sr. After high school, he attended and graduated from University of California Santa Barbara. He obtained his Master's degree from Cal Poly Pomona and became an environmental planner for the City of Irvine (CA) before co-founding Michael Brandman Associates.

Lloyd's wandering spirit led him to Washington, D.C. where he found his passion working for the Urban Land Institute, completing his career there as Senior Vice President. He travelled the world, exploring new cities and countries while organizing first class events for thousands of conference attendees.

Lloyd married his long-time partner of 33 years, John Garrity in November 2013. They built a beautiful home in Palm Springs where they welcomed friends and family from around the world.

Lloyd is survived by his first wife, Vivian Goldschmidt Holland, his loving sister, Linda and her husband, Eric, sister Candy and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heifer International which works to end hunger and poverty around the world.
