Lizzet Perez

November 27, 1979 — April 24, 2018

On April 24, 2018 the the world lost a bright soul when the light dimed on Lizzet Perez. She was the youngest daughter of Eduardo and Elva Rosa Chavez and the granddaughter of Nana Melo Santacruz Martinez.

She is survived by her husband and best friend Roger E. Perez III and the children she adored Roger IV and Giuliana.

She will truly be missed by her sisters Monica Chavez-Rodriguez (Artemio) and Yaneth S. Chavez; her brothers- and sister-in-law Chris Pescador (Celina), Steven Perez (Mayra) and Ashley Hawkins (Jason).

Lizzet's loss will be felt by her nieces and nephews: Jorge and Anthony, Edward and Kate, Taylor and Drew, Leilani and Lilyanna, Steven II and Michael, and Jason Jr. and Ava.

After graduating from Coachella Valley High School she continued her education at the California State University, San Bernardino and receive a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology. She followed her passion of helping people by working as a Social Worker for Riverside County for over 14 years.

Lizzet was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Lizzet had a passion for food and strongly believed it was the centerpiece that brought family and friends together. Her Faith in God is what allowed for her to persevere and never lose hope. She fought until the very end, and even in death, she was beautiful and gracious. She should be remembered for her selflessness. At the very end her main priority was to let everyone know she was at peace and wanted to make sure everyone was going to be okay.

Lizzet will forever be remembered by her large extended family and close group of friends for her infectious smile, louder than life laugh and kind heart.

Since being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2016, Lizzet was a strong advocate for everyone to get a Cancer screening. Her fight for early detection will continue through all who knew and loved her. You can honor Lizzet's memory by getting checked yourself. #LizzetStrong
