It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda C. Tong, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Paw Paw, and friend, who left us peacefully on June 21, 2024, at the age of 71. Linda was surrounded by her loving family at her home in Hacienda Heights, where she resided for the past 39 years.
Born on December 29, 1952, in Hong Kong, Linda was the daughter of the late Wai Yu and Lan Oi Cheung. Growing up, she was independent, focused, and tenacious. After graduating from Cal State Los Angeles, she immediately joined the workforce, and excelled in her career. Linda dedicated her career to excellence, working at various esteemed companies before retiring from her position as Controller at Shea Homes.
Linda's passion for life extended beyond her professional achievements. She loved to spend time with her friends and family and travel the world. Linda spent time volunteering at Someone Cares Soup Kitchen in Costa Mesa and at her daughter’s non-profit, California Restaurant Foundation. More recently, she treasured spending every minute with her grandson.
Above all, Linda cherished her family the most. She married her college sweetheart, Louis Tong, in 1979, and together they built a beautiful life. Linda was a proud mother to two children, Jonathan Tong, and Natalie (Joshua) Webster, and a doting Paw Paw to Logan Lok who brought her so much joy.
Linda's gentle spirit, generous heart, and unwavering integrity touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her memorable smile, her willingness to help others, and her ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.
Linda is survived by her children Jonathan and Natalie, her grandson Logan Lok, her sisters, Wendy, Teresa, Adele and Stella, her brother, Mike, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Louis Tong.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Little Church of the Flowers at Forest Lawn Glendale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Linda's memory to the American Lung Association or PIH Hospital Foundation.
