Linda Marie Heim
Linda Marie Strunk was born on November 26, 1944, in Carroll, Iowa. She passed away on December 13, 2025, and is now in Heaven, smiling, at peace, and free from worries.
Family was the center of Linda’s world, and she loved them endlessly. She was devoted to her beloved husband, Denis Heim, whom she cared for with unwavering love until his tragic passing six years ago. They met as teenagers and went on to build a lifetime of love, and a beautiful home centered on family, devotion, and togetherness.
Linda was a proud and loving mother to her two sons, Carl and John. Carl and his wife, Michele, blessed her with two granddaughters, Kayla and Casey. John and his wife, Mindy, blessed her with three grandchildren, Sabrina, Joshua, and Sean. Linda truly adored her grandchildren; her face would light up whenever she saw them, and her joy and pride in being their grandmother was unmistakable.
Linda was also a loving sister to Betty and Barb, her two older sisters, and her four younger siblings, Jeannie, Butch, Louise and Sandy. She cherished long conversations on the phone, staying closely connected to her family through shared stories, laughter, and love. As an aunt to 16 nieces and nephews, Linda delighted in staying in touch and loved receiving updates on their lives and growing families.
She moved from Iowa to California in 1964. She and Denis raised their boys in Long Beach before later settling in Cerritos, CA. She worked as a cashier at the Naval Exchange in Long Beach, from 1964 until retiring at the age of 50, where she helped others daily, enjoyed a fun group of friends, and received awards on her excellent work. With Denny and their family, Linda also spent many happy times at their home in Parker, Arizona, riding dirt bikes, water skiing, and making lasting memories together.
A devout Catholic, Linda received all of her sacraments and lived her faith with quiet devotion. She was steadfast in prayer, faithfully lifting up her loved ones and all who asked for her prayers. Her faith guided her life and gave her comfort, even when anxiety pushed against her. Linda put others first, wanting everyone around her to feel comfortable, cared for, and at ease. Her home was a place of warmth, welcome, and food...no one ever left hungry!
Linda believed in caring for herself as well as others, and wanting to keep up her health and strength, she enjoyed walks, time at the gym, exercise classes and later became especially mindful of healthy eating. Ever determined, she recently was enrolled in chair yoga, at the Cerritos Senior Center, and continued her stretches even during her time in the rehabilitation hospital.
Linda had a tender, loving heart. She regularly reached out daily to her family with short but meaningful texts; simple messages of love, a “good morning,” a wish for a safe day, or a note about the weather she was expecting. These everyday gestures were her way of staying connected and reminding those she loved that they were always in her thoughts. Her love will live on in the hearts of those she cherished, and she will forever be missed.
