Lily Wang

February 10, 1949 — February 12, 2026

Los Angeles

Lily Wang, 76, passed away on February 12, 2026, in Los Angeles, California, where she had made her home. She was born on February 10, 1949, in Shanghai, China. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.

Lily was born at the close of the Chinese Civil War to parents who had fought alongside Chiang Kai-shek with the Nationalist Party. When Lily was still an infant, her mom was imprisoned by the Chinese Communist Party for her work as a spy. In the upheaval that followed the war, Lily spent her early childhood in Macau, and later in Taiwan, she was the oldest of five children, three brothers (NAMES) and a sister, Ling Ling. She became a strong and reslient woman.

In the 1970s, Lily immigrated to the United States, eventually settling in Queens, New York, where she raised her two sons, Victor Look (born 1975) and Vincent Look (born 1978). The consumate healer at heart, Lily worked various healthcare and medical roles while her children were young; the consumate mother at heart, she always placed their education and well‑being first.

After her sons left for college, Lily returned to school herself, earning her license as an acupuncturist in New York. She built a thriving and well‑respected practice, known for both her skill and her compassion for her patients. She was a brilliant acupuncturist.

In 2010, Lily moved to Los Angeles, to be closer to her children, who had made their lives there. Always brave and full of energy, she once again returned to school, became licensed in California, and established a second successful acupuncture practice. During these years, she found great joy in spending time with her adult children and her grandchildren, Jasper Look (born 2013) and Elliot Look (born 2020), who were born to Lily's beautiful daughter-in-law, Grace Chon. Together, they spent many days walking through Los Feliz, Silverlake, Descanso Gardens, Griffith Park, and Eagle Rock.

Lily filled her life with movement as an amazing ballroom dancer, and creativity as a talented painter and musician. She loved healing people, dancing, hiking, making art, and sharing meals with friends and family. She sang and hummed along with Blondie, Cyndi Lauper, Céline Dion, and The Phantom of the Opera. In her retirement, Lily spent her time playing Sudoku, hiking, and building puzzles and Legos with her grandchildren. She also deeply appreciated art—loving to draw, paint, and practice calligraphy—and found peace in playing the guzheng, the traditional Chinese harp. Above all, Lily was a devoted and loving mother who led by example and instilled in her children the virtues of courage, love, and strength. She lived freely and without concern for others’ judgments, yet always carried herself with thoughtfulness and grace.

She will be remembered for her love, her beauty, her generosity, her brilliance, and her generous spirit, as well as the quiet determination with which she built a life across continents and generations. Above all else, she loved people unconditionally.

Note: Official U.S. records list Lily’s date of birth as December 24, 1949; however, her actual date of birth, which falls under the Lunar Calendar, is February 10, 1949.
