Lilia Elena Moscoso, 94, closed her beautiful brown eyes for the last time on May 27, 2023 surrounded by her family and friends. Lilia was born in Mexico City, Mexico and moved to Los Angeles shortly after getting married in 1958. After 13 years of marriage, she was left a young widow with 6 children all under age 12.
 
Lilia had graduated from the Marinello School of Beauty shortly before her husband passed away, and enjoyed a career in cosmetology. She later learned how to do permanent makeup, tattooing eyebrows, lining lips, and eyes.
At the age of 50, she was accepted to the Dental Assistant Program at UCLA, and became the oldest graduate to complete the grueling courses with honors. The next 13 years were spent happily working in a busy dental office.
 
Lilia kept herself quite busy after retirement, and received a commendation from the Mayor & City of Los Angeles for her volunteer work through the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic, educating school children and community members about the dangers of smoking.
 
Lilia is survived by her beloved brother and his family, her 6 children, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and the countless friends who have become family throughout the years.
 
Being at a long table filled with family and friends to celebrate the many birthdays and holidays always made her so happy!
Lilia’s greatest loves were simple. God first, followed by her children and family, then pan dulce, and finally earrings.
Services to be held at Forest Lawn, Glendale at 10am on 6/15/23.
