Lilia Feria Mortero

Lilia Feria Mortero, also known as Marlene to some, fondly Neng to her siblings, passed away on April 24th less than two months short of her 66th birthday. She was a woman who lived life to the fullest, always seeking out new adventures and experiences.

Born in Quezon City, Philippines, Lilia as a child was always happy and full of energy, just like her grandson, Angelo. She grew up to become a responsible teenager, sharing household duties with her sister, Minda. She graduated from Belarmino Elementary School in 1969, Jose P. Laurel Sr. High School in 1973, and the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in 1978 (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).

After college, she began her 40-year career as a nurse at UST Hospital in the Philippines, then in the USA from 1980, working in New Jersey, California, and Nevada. Determined and dedicated, she sacrificed much to support her siblings through college, and helped her mom and siblings migrate to the USA with their families.

Lilia is survived by her only daughter Angelica, son-in-law Moises, grandson Angelo, siblings Minda, Jose, Rosendo, Lucia and Maria, as well as an extended loving family including siblings' spouses, 16 nephews and nieces and 6 great-nephews and nieces.
