Familia Hidalgo

Biography

Lidia Hidalgo, 98, was born on December 14, 1924 in Ecuador and passed away on April 28, 2023. She resided in Glassell Park a neighborhood of Northeast Los Angeles, California at the time of her passing. Wife to Alejandro Hidalgo and Mother of 7 children: Rebeca, Martha, Patricio, Luis, Ximena, Fernando and Eddy.

She was a devoted woman of great faith. Her favorite Bible verses were John 14: 6-7 and Psalms 89: 8-11.

At an early age she was an entrepreneur and a hard worker who migrated to the U.S. to seek a better life for her family. The love for her family and her culture was expressed through cooking traditional Ecuadorian dishes.

Some of her hobbies were knitting, puzzles and word searches but her favorite was sewing. She enjoyed gardening, as it brought the family together to only help plant but most importantly to experience the diversity, beauty and joy of her flowers.

Lidia was caring, generous and extremely witty with everyone she knew. Her unselfish personality always led her to help and empathize with the sufferings and needs of others before that of her own. Her contagious laugh and smile would light up any room.

She shared many memories with all of her family and friends, but one of her many delights was to be spoiled with a Carl's Jr. burger from her youngest son Eddy.

Thank you all for the love, prayers and thoughts for our family. We will never be able to express our gratitude and will greatly welcome you to share your memories with us.

With Gratitude and Love,

Hidalgo Family
