ECKERLE LETICIA – September 2, 2017 marked the two-year anniversary of the passing of Leticia "Letty" Eckerle, due to complications from Parkinson's disease.

She is survived by three children, George Eckerle, Jr., Lynn Osornia Eckerle, and Glenn Eckerle; daughter-in-law Mary Beth Eckerle; five grandchildren, Sophia and Sean Eckerle, Jennifer, Lauren and Kyle Osornia; and a great-grand son Abraham Julio MackIntosh.

She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Eduardo Lembcke, Lucy Lembcke, Federico Olin, her former husband, George Eckerle, Sr. and son-in-law Julio Osornia.

Letty was born in Lima, Peru and emigrated to the United States. She moved to Los Angeles and married George Eckerle in 1957. Although their marriage ended in divorce in 1980, they remained very close until George's passing.

Letty had a lengthy career at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California from 1971 until her retirement in 2001. She truly enjoyed her life's work there and always remarked about her many close friends and the exciting and challenging scientific work achieved at the Lab.

She is remembered for her energy, her work ethic, her devotion to family and friends, her probity, grace, fashion sense and sense of humor.

She was a parishioner of St. Bede's the Venerable in La Canada, and her funeral mass was celebrated there on September 14, 2015. Her repose is at Forest Lawn Hollywood.
