Leslie Carole Kenworthy Avery

March 1, 1945 — December 3, 2013

Leslie Kenworthy Avery, 68 years old, of Toluca Lake, CA passed away on December 3, 2013 surrounded by her children due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
Leslie was born on March 1, 1945 to Charles and Millicent Goldstone in upstate New York. They relocated their family to Hollywood, California when Leslie was five years old. Leslie was the youngest of 10 children. She attended Carpenter Avenue, Walter Reed and North Hollywood High schools. Leslie went to work at Columbia pictures and met her first husband, Joseph Kenworthy father to her two children Michael and Michelle.

In 1987, Leslie married Robert P. Avery II, the VP of Shamrock Holdings, a Roy and Patty Disney company. Together they designed and built their dream home on Forman Avenue in Toluca Lake, California. She resided at her home at until Bob passed and she became ill.

Leslie worked in the entertainment industry for the studios for many years both in production and at the corporate level prior to beginning her career in real estate in 1977. Her knowledge of the entertainment industry proved to be a tremendous asset in her commercial real estate career. Leslie retired in 2011 as the owner-broker of First Commercial Group and First Residential Properties, which she started in 1986.

Leslie loved adventure and the outdoors. She was always on the go and loved to jump out of perfectly good air planes, ride motorcycles, downhill ski, play tennis, travel the world on cruise ships, collect art, design spaces and hustle people at ping pong to name just a few of her pastimes. Leslie drove as if she was on the Autobahn every day, and was always impeccably dressed and put together. She loved sports and you could hear her cheer along from the next state over…and God forbid you interrupt her while watching the Lakers or Football.

Leslie will always be lovingly remembered both professionally and personally for going above and beyond to help absolutely anyone in need. She maintained clients for over 30 years that became dear friends and had a remarkable talent for making new friends everywhere she went.

Leslie is survived by her sisters Onnie, Arlene and Valerie, her son Michael K. Kenworthy, and her daughter Michelle K. Mustain her son in law Timothy Mustain and her grandchildren Riley Elizabeth and Brendan Christopher as well as her stepchildren Ross Avery, Bob Avery and Cindy Roberts.
