Leonila "Nelly" Paunlagui Villanueva

Leonila "Nelly" Paunlagui Villanueva was born on January 17, 1939 in Calamba Laguna, Phillipines. She passed away on February 25, 2018 at St Vincent Hospital. She resided in Los Angeles, California at the time of her passing. She was the 4th child of Eduardo and Paciencia Paunlagui. Nelly was preceded in death by her second husband Pedro Villanueva, siblings Percy Perez and Seferino Paunlagui; and survived by her siblings Diosdada Penollar and Bienvenido Paunlagui. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Commerce from Lyceum University and worked for Public Works and Highways where she met her first husband Dante Perez. Together, they were blessed with 4 children, Donald, Delinda, Marie and Maria. With the help of her mother and siblings, Nelly was able to migrated to United State with her children in 1987. She worked and retired as Certified Nurse Assistant. Nelly had a passion for cooking, gardening and taking care of her grandchildren Anthony, Michael, Jeffrey, Kendall and Don Christopher. In addition, she had a passion and heart in helping the unfortunate. With her limited wealth, she managed to continuously donated money to different charities. Nelly's strong faith in God remained with her until the end.
