Leon Bass

Leon Bass, 68 years, succumbed to breast cancer on September 29, 2014 at his home in Upland, California. Leon was born in Helena, Arkansas to Lond and Geneva Bass on September 25, 1946. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Leon went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Dominguez Hills University as he worked for Los Angeles County Probation Department. Leon was quick to advance through the ranks and became Director of Camp Afflerbaugh in the city of Laverne until his retiremet in June of 2009 after 35 years of service.

Leon enjoyed the great outdoors, camping, fishing, cooking and all sports.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his wife Noreen, son Leon II, daughters Myesha and La'Tanya, three grandchildren, sisters Ruby and Nettie, brother Lond and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Covina Hills on Tuesday October 7, 2014 from 9:00am until 9:00pm.
