Lena Elizabeth Jones

Lena Elizabeth Jones, known to her family and friends as "Perlene" was born in St. Andrew, Jamaica on March 15, 1940. Her parents were Caston Henderson and Eugene Hibbert, and she was one of 16 children. Lena met her would-be husband Alvin Jones and they later wedded in Jamaica before immigrating to the United States.

Lena settled in New York City where she attended college and would later graduate with a degree. She worked as a nurse at The New York Hospital. Lena had three children, Patrick (known as Tony), Natasha and Paul who preceded her in death. Lena loved her children as any mother would and raised them with an iron fist and a shield of love!

In 1977, Lena moved to California, and later became the owner of a medical supply store, and then a three board and care homes that housed emotionally challenged individuals. Lena loved taking care of people, especially her family and friends. Lena was instrumental in helping many of her brothers and sisters immigrate to the US along with their families. Lena loved to cook, dance, and especially entertain. It was often said that if there was ever a house to go to, it would be to Lena's house where she always had a funny story to tell that would have you crying from laughter.
